Csaba Kőrösi in the COP29 International Advisory Committee (IAC)

Csaba Kőrösi, Strategic Director of the Blue Planet Foundation, has been invited to join the International Advisory Committee of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC COP 29). The meeting will take place from 11 to 22 November 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Csaba Kőrösi has already supported the COP29 planning process by participating in preparatory meetings and sessions before the official establishment of the international advisory body. He held information sessions on several topics and consulted with the event’s presidency and the organisers.

The main objectives of the COP29 IAC that meets monthly are the following:

  • To represent diverse voices of climate advocates from different communities such as finance, government, academia, entrepreneurship, civil society etc. in order to provide multi stakeholder guidance and expert advice to the COP29 Presidency on key issues in the sphere of climate change;
  • To facilitate international collaboration and partnerships that enhance and promote COP29 initiatives;
  • To ensure that the latest scientific research, best practices, and innovative solutions inform COP29 preparations and its decisions;
  • To assist in the identification and mobilisation of resources for COP programs and projects;
  • To promote transparency, accountability, and stakeholder engagement in COP-related processes.
