New Rules in Global Water Policy – Csaba Kőrösi Presented at the Ludovika University of Public Service
„We exceeded six out of the nine Planetary Boundaries in 2023. These milestones indicate the point after the planet becomes unable to recover its stable climate and humanity can no longer live in safe conditions,” said Csaba Kőrösi, strategic director of the Blue Planet Climate Protection Foundation, during his presentation held at the Ludovika University of Public Service.
He stressed that to understand how the world works today, we need to recognise the complex, entangled connections between the inhabitants of this planet, our environment, and the social-economic, cultural, and political factors.
The SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) must remain a top priority. However, as Csaba Kőrösi explained, the implementation tends to be uncoordinated, and the goals are considered separate projects, even though a comprehensive approach is necessary for effectiveness.
Csaba Kőrösi described the changing rules of global water policy in nine points. He stressed the need to improve the inter- and intraregional water resource management and to share globally the data on water and water supply. He also pointed out the importance of infrastructure development and technological innovation.
