The Elisabeth Haub Award, in recognition of outstanding achievement in environmental law and diplomacy

The Elisabeth Haub Award is the most prestigious award for work in environmental law and diplomacy. It has a distinguished history, stretching back to 1979. It was established as it is known today by the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and the family of Elisabeth Haub (1899-1977) to honour her, the noted philanthropist and advocate for strong laws for the conservation of nature. The award, presented by an internationally renowned jury, recognises the innovation, skill and accomplishments of lawyers, diplomats, international civil servants and other advocates working to protect the world’s environment.

In 2015, Csaba Kőrösi, Strategic Director of the Blue Planet Climate Protection Foundation and co-chair of the UN Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals was awarded the Elisabeth Haub Prize together with Ambassador Macharia Kamau (Kenya). In 2023, Csaba Kőrösi was invited to be part of the jury.
